SELECTED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Taught in Continuing Studies Department, University
of British Columbia, in office technology classes including Microsoft
Office and Orientation to the Microcomputer, File Management,
Internet and Email, Job Search, Resume Writing and Interview Skills
in a program for the Ministry of Advanced Education, Training
and Technology.
As Executive Director of the National
Academy of Older Canadians, taught senior
citizens to use microcomputers and the internet, recruited volunteers
as office staff and teachers, trained lab assistants, planned
curriculum and developed new course materials.
Working as part of a team with senior staff and chief executives
from manufacturing companies (Hewlett-Packard, Bayer, Kaiser),
served as the Administrative Coordinator of Gonzaga's Manufacturing
Forum. Handled production and distribution of the conference brochure;
registration of up to 150 delegates; organized workshops; coordinated
travel arrangements for the workshop leaders; and produced the
conference proceedings from material provided by the speakers
As Assistant to the Director of Gonzaga University's Center for Engineering Design, collected
and coordinated information from the various School of Engineering
professors regarding lab activities and equipment and put together
a brochure/tour booklet. Have also written and coordinated press
releases for the Center.
As Education Chair for the Spokane Chapter
of the International Association of Administrative Professionals,
planned and organized review classes for the Certified Professional
Secretary exam including hiring instructors, arranging classroom
space and preparing press releases and publicity materials.
Published in The Spokesman-Review, Spokane Woman, Indian Trail
Times, The Fig Tree, Spokane Valley News, Cheney Free Press, The
Easterner, Lumens, in addition to in-house publications for Sacred
Heart Medical Centre and Gonzaga University. Clips available on
